Bishop Fleming has joined forces with a Cornish dive centre to enable 400 teenagers to learn to Scuba Dive.
The firm, which delivers accounting, audit, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals, has joined in partnership with Dive Project Cornwall, sponsoring its education programme, helping to educate and raise awareness of the importance of the planet’s marine environment.
Dive Project Cornwall is delivered in two parts – an education programme and an experience opportunity.
The overall initiative will educate hundreds of thousands of young people and millions through promotional features via media partners and strong collaborations with ocean charities.
The experience opportunity will enable 400 teenagers to win a once in a lifetime experience, where they will undertake a life-changing trip to Cornwall for six-days; they will learn to scuba dive, undertake beach activities, and learn from marine experts.
The teenagers will become ‘Ocean Influencers’ and will act to positively engage, inspire and motivate the next generation to save our planet.
Ally Allington, partner at Bishop Fleming’s Truro office, said: “We are constantly working to minimise our carbon footprint. Having been awarded ‘Plastic Free Champion’ status by Surfers Against Sewage in 2019, we are committed to making a difference and making an impact on doing the best we can for the environment.
“As a leading Cornwall-based business committed to the region, we are delighted to be part of the Dive Project Cornwall, which is a great initiative taking place within the region to help educate and offer a fantastic opportunity to the next generation.”
