The Headland Hotel Community Fund is welcoming grant applications from local community groups.

The owners of the hotel established the fund in 2019. Managed on behalf of The Headland by Cornwall Community Foundation, funds are raised by inviting guests to make an optional donation at check out.

Hotel director Veryan Palmer said: “We are a business that’s rooted in all that is best in Newquay and north Cornwall. We are passionate about supporting the local grassroots groups and charities who are working to make our communities stronger.”

The fund, which has previously awarded grants to the Drop In And Share Centre, Newquay Foodbank, Newquay Youth Club and Oasis House, is welcoming new applications supporting projects from Newquay and the surrounding areas that address immediate crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing provision.

First-time applicants to the fund will take priority and the average grant available is £3k, although higher awards may be available in exceptional circumstances.

The closing date for applications is October 8. Click here for more details.
