Jakie Jewell has been named the new CEO of accessible-watersports charity, Children’s Sailing Trust.
Cornish born and raised by the Helford River, Jewell’s career includes 30 years in the commercial accommodation sector and has particular skills in team leadership, financial management and brand development.
Jewell, who will assume the role from outgoing CEO Simon Osborne on September 1, joined the trust back in February as Trevassack Holidays accommodation manager for the new Trevassack Lake project after more than 30 years at Classic Cottages.
She said: “I am incredibly excited to be leading the next phase for Children’s Sailing Trust. Having personally experienced the trust’s great work on the Helford River for our local schools with my son benefitting from this experience, it was a real honor to join the Children’s Sailing Trust team earlier this year.
“It’s a key year for the trust, with our long-established sailing and watersports sessions on the Helford River being joined by a brand new, first of its kind in the UK, Trevassack Lake Centre of Excellence opening this autumn. This will offer all year-round watersport activities and fully accessible state-of-the-art accommodation and ensure we are able to take our charitable objectives and our offering to the next level.
I am delighted to be ‘at the helm’ of this exciting new phase.”
