West Cornwall-based campervan conversion specialist, Chilli Jam Vans, held its first customer event recently and raised funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Chilli Jam Vans’ Jam took place at Hellesveor Holidays campsite in St Ives where old and new owners of Volkswagen Transporter T5 and T6s conversions got together to celebrate their bespoke weekenders.

During the weekend, a secret auction was held with the support of local suppliers of Chilli Jam Vans’ including Cornwall TPS, Euro Car Parts Penzance and Hafele and £111 was raised.

Katri Iivonen-Gray, partner at Chilli Jam Vans, said: “Children and families are at the heart of everything that we do. Our business is about building high quality campervan conversions on Volkswagen T5 and T6s that help families spend more quality time together, and have fun.

“Children’s Hospice South West was therefore an obvious choice for us to support.”

The hospice is also the chosen charity of Hellesveor Holidays in St Ives. Owners Mel and Andrews have been fundraising for the charity after their close friends lost their daughter a few years ago.

The couple said: “We believe CHSW were a godsend during their final months with her so we’re very happy that Chilli Jam Vans raised some money for the hospice as that’s our charity of choice, too.

“It was an absolute pleasure to host the first ever Chilli Jam Vans Jam at our campsite. The guests were a great bunch and even a short shower during the evening didn’t dampen their spirits. We’re delighted to hear that they also raised some money for Children’s Hospice South West, a local charity very close to our hearts. Bring on the 2018 event!”
