Staff at a St Austell company swapped printing plates for cake plates as the team took part in their very own bake off.

The team at St Austell Printing Company (SAPC), which is based at the £6.2 million St Austell Business Park and Conference Centre, swapped making business cards for buns to raise money for charity.

The bake sale, held earlier this month, was in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.

St Austell Business Park and Conference Centre manager, Beth Mayman, said: “The event was a great success and everyone really enjoyed showing off their baking skills.

“We had a huge amount of support from our customers including ones who are based at the business park and those we supply print.”

The event raised £240, a figure that was matched by SAPC’s managing director, Peter Moody, taking the total to £480.

Judy Lawton, community fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care, and promoter of the first Great Cornish Cake Bake Day, added: “This was our inaugural Great Cornish Cake Bake Day and thanks to companies like St Austell Printing, it was a big success.”
