Staff at Coodes Solicitors have named the Invictus Trust as their charity of the year.

They will support the charity with fundraising and awareness-raising to support its campaigns for better mental health provision for young people in Cornwall.

The firm, which has a dedicated mental health team, chose the Truro-based charity through a staff vote.

The Invictus Trust was set up five years ago in memory of Ben Cowburn and aims to support local teenagers who are suffering from poor mental health.

Steve Cowburn of the Invictus Trust said: “We are delighted that the staff at Coodes have chosen the Invictus Trust as their charity of the year.

“Through this partnership, we hope to raise more awareness of the importance of mental health, boost our fundraising and improve our knowledge of the legal issues surrounding mental health.”

Head of Coodes’ mental health team, Lawrence Ford, added: “Working with the Invictus Trust will give our staff the opportunity to support a local charity through fundraising.

“It will also allow us to support their campaign for a specialist residential unit for 13 to 25 year-olds with mental health problems: something that we believe would significantly improve the situation for young people living in Cornwall.”
