Restaurants throughout Cornwall are preparing to get StreetSmart this winter, in an annual drive to raise funds for three local charities.
StreetSmart is a national campaign that aims to raise money each year for the vulnerable via a voluntary £1 donation added to restaurant bills during November and December.
As all administration costs are paid by national StreetSmart sponsor Deutsche Bank, 100% of the money raised goes directly to the charities, which in Cornwall’s case are St Petroc’s Society, Cornwall Women’s Refuge Trust and the Cornish branches of Foodbank.
Helen Mulhern, MD of Eventy – Marketing & PR, which is coordinating the Cornwall contingency again this year, is pleased to be on board once more.
She commented: “We have been running StreetSmart in Cornwall for several years and are delighted that so many restaurants want to take part for 2014.
“We hope that even more will come forward before November 1 when the campaign begins. Raising awareness for the charities involved and supporting the restaurants is key to making this year even more successful in providing vital funds to help the vulnerable in Cornwall.”
