Cornwall Care celebrated national Nurses’ Day yesterday (May 12) with a specially designed ‘Thank You’ card for its 1,400 staff.
The not-for-profit company marked the event, which coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, by commissioning a card design – inspired by ideas from its own care home residents – to give to 60 nurses and a wide range of other staff members.
Bridget Varney, deputy director of operations at Cornwall Care, said: “We recognise that our staff are our greatest asset. National Nurses’ Day is an opportunity for us to pause and reflect on the hard work, dedication, compassion and skills of our nurses and the Health Care Assistants who support them.”
