Businesses are being urged to go ‘one day without shoes’ next week in support of charity.

Tuesday, April 29, is the designated day, and businesses are being asked to snap a photo of their bare feet and share it on social media with the hash tag #withoutshoes.

The day, which is organised by shoe company, TOMS, is about raising awareness of children’s health and education issues around the world.
There are millions of children living without the basics that we take for granted. The lack of footwear can have a serious impact on their health and education and TOMS is helping to provide these children with the proper footwear they need.

Cornish retailer Ann’s Cottage is supporting the initiative. Owner, Rob Harris, said: “TOMS are a great brand that really give something back. Their ‘One for One’ scheme means that for every pair of TOMS purchased, a child who really needs some shoes will be given a pair.”
