Top auction lots included a stay at the Hell Bay Hotel on Bryher, a VIP voyage on Trinity House’s boat Galatea and a three-course dinner cooked by the helicopter’s paramedics.

Head of fundraising Susie Smith said: “We’re over the moon at how successful the evening was in raising crucial funds to keep the air ambulance flying.

“We tried out holding a ball in the helicopter hangar for the first time last year, and it’s been so successful it’s now building into an annual event.

“A big thanks to our guests and sponsors for making is such a successful event.”
