The countdown is on for local restaurants who want to get involved in a charity campaign to help Cornwall’s homeless.

Now in its fourth year, StreetSmart raises funds via restaurants adding an optional £1 onto each table’s bill during November and December. All administration costs are paid by national StreetSmart sponsor Deutsche Bank, which means that every pound donated goes to the charities.

Last year, 14 participating restaurants around Cornwall raised over £7.5k that went directly to St Petroc’s Society and the Cornwall Women’s Refuge Trust. This year, Foodbank will also benefit.

To date, restaurants signed to the scheme include: Archie Brown’s, Blue Beach Bar & Brasserie, Bustophers, Carn Brea Castle, Fireside at the Cove, Gylly Beach Café, Harbourside at the GreenBank Hotel, Indaba Fish: In the City and On the Beach, Lewinnick Lodge, Miss Peapods Café, Nathan Outlaw’s Seafood & Grill, Stein’s Cornish Arms, The Golden Lion, The Gurnard’s Head, The Old Quay Inn, The Roseland Inn, The Victory Inn, Treloyhan Manor, Trevaskis Farm and TwoTen200.
