This year’s Seafood Restaurant charity lunches have raised £9k for Save the Children.

Rick and Jill have been running the lunches for more than ten years in aid of Save the Children. Their charity lunches run for three weeks each year during January and February, including weekends, where visitors enjoy a three course lunch for £17.50 with a £2.50 cover charge donated directly to Save the Children.

50% of all money raised will be donated directly to Save the Children’s Haiti appeal, where their response teams are already carrying out assessments on the ground and preparing to get life-saving supplies to those who need them.

Rick Stein commented: “Our charity lunches have proved increasingly popular over the years. Together with our customers we’ve managed to raise a significant amount of money this year to help raise awareness and support the great work that Save the Children carries out in the UK and across the world. It’s turned out to be a real success.”

Joy Gay, secretary of Save the Children Padstow branch added: “A big thank you to Rick and Jill Stein and all the staff at The Seafood Restaurant for helping raise such a fantastic sum of money that will ensure Save the Children can continue to respond quickly and help the children caught up in both natural and man-made disasters.”
