The winners of the Made in Cornwall Awards 2024 have been announced.
The priority of the Made in Cornwall scheme is to protect and promote Cornish growers, makers and businesses that authentically produce in Cornwall, and the provenance of their products to help guard against imitation, globalism and misleading marketing.
All applications to the awards are credited for using localised supply chains, employment, materials sourcing and commitment to the environment, ethical/traditional processes and natural ingredients. In addition, they look at how they incorporate their Made in Cornwall status across their business and marketing.
Among the winners was Christopher Trindle of Trendleberry Pets, who took Gold in the Taking Cornwall Places category. He said of the awards: “It’s a great selling point, especially in retail stores with tourist spots and markets, and it has been a massive selling point to customers we sell to nationally.”
Louise Daykin, who took Gold in the Cornish Craftsmanship category, added: “Made in Cornwall has always been the ‘Kite Mark’ that I’ve aspired to be part of. Being part of Made in Cornwall scheme underpins my proud ethos of sourcing locally and creating high quality goods.”
