The Grade II listed building that is now home to Bayspace – a coworking and events space in the heart of St Ives – has won the regional refurbishment/revitalisation category at the RICS South West regional awards.
The awards recognise outstanding building projects in the area, judged across the areas of residential, community, heritage, public sector and refurbishment revitalisation.
“We are delighted to win this award,” said Bayspace director Rowena Swallow. “It’s recognition for a lot of hard work and collaboration with our architects Studio Skein, quantity surveyors Edwin Bryant and the engineers at MBA to get the project realised.
“Together with the design team we worked to overcome successive challenges during and after the pandemic to deliver a beautifully restored building open to all.”
Other winners included Keynvor residential development in Mawgan Porth for residential development and Keynsham Recycling Hub for the public sector project.
The successful regional winners are now set to compete at the RICS Awards grand finale in October.
