Have you thought about entering awards but never given it a go?

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub is sponsoring the Environmental Growth category at this year’s Cornwall Sustainability Awards.

If you have never entered an award before or if you haven’t quite made it past the first hurdle to the shortlist, then sign up to the free webinar on October 14 just two weeks before the deadline at the end of the month.

The awards’ mission is to cast a light on the best of business, large and small – rewarding and celebrating their contribution to environmental growth and resource efficiency.

It is completely free and easy to enter; you just have to be based in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. Businesses can apply themselves or you can be nominated for an award. This year’s categories are:

  • Growing greener: sustainable food & farming
  • Circular Economy
  • Environmental Growth
  • Carbon Neutral

During the webinar you can find out the best way to plan your entry, common pitfalls to avoid, where people miss out on those precious points and what the judges might be looking for in a winner. For everyone entering awards this is essential viewing!

The Growth Hub works with local businesses, including self-employed people and not-for-profit organisations to offer guidance and support to help them work smarter, develop and grow.

Kirsty Miles-Musgrave, operations manager for the Growth Hub, said: “There are many ways small businesses can do their bit to achieve net zero emissions. Here at the Growth Hub, we can point business owners in the right direction for the support available to help them take the first steps towards becoming more sustainable.”
