The Bowgie Inn in Crantock has been named as one of just ten pubs from across the country to reach the finals of the Community Pub Hero Awards.

Organised by PubAid and the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, the competition was created to recognise the great work done by pubs since the first Covid lockdown in March last year, going above and beyond to support their local communities, despite facing uncertainty themselves.

Every day, Bowgie Inn owner Sally Pickles streamed daily live video streams from the beach on social media, with thousands of viewers watching and hundreds commenting, not just in the UK, but around the world.

In addition, The Bowgie hosted virtual live music gigs raising money for the NHS, as well as a Virtual Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday, free weekly Virtual Live Yoga sessions and ‘thank you’ campaigns giving out Bowgie vouchers to local heroes on the front line of the pandemic.
