30under30

Who are Cornwall’s brightest young business stars? With your help, we will soon find out.

The Cornwall Chamber of Commerce in partnership with networking group The Hub, Business Cornwall magazine and Avanti Communications plc, is promoting Cornwall’s first ever 30 under 30 awards to discover the 30 most innovative entrepreneurs and employees aged under 30 who are making a real difference.

The 30 winners of the first ever 30 under 30 awards will be featured in the February edition of Business Cornwall.

To be eligible for the award, 30 under 30 entrants must be either employees or self-employed, working in Cornwall and under 30 years of age by the nomination deadline date, December 31. Nominations can come from local businesses and the third sector.

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce chief executive, Kim Conchie, said: “We want to highlight the great contribution being made by young people to Cornish commercial life and send a message to local businesses that it’s good to celebrate success and nurture the business leaders of tomorrow.”

The stylish 30 under 30 swoosh logo was designed by Cornwall College student, Connor Hussey, who is in the first year of studies on the Level 3 Diploma: Games Design for Industry.

Winner Connor, 19, was selected from an outstanding field. He said “I’m really pleased to have won. This has given me the confidence to work on more client-based projects.”

Cornwall Chamber and award sponsor Cornwall College collaborated as part the college’s ‘Creative Flare’ programme, in which students gain vocational experience working on ‘real life’ client briefs.
