Television’s ‘The Three Hungry Boys’ will be returning to Cornwall to help celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Cornwall Sustainability Awards.

Thom Hunt, Tim Cresswell and Trevor Brinkman, better known as Thom, Tim and Trev from Channel 4’s ‘Hugh’s Three Hungry Boys’, will be entertaining guests at the ceremony.

Taking place at the Green Lawns Hotel, Falmouth, on Friday, December 7, the awards recognise the work that businesses in Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly do to become more sustainable.

Veryan Jones, Cornwall Council’s sustainable development officer and event organiser, said: “We’re very excited to have the Three Hungry Boys lined up to present at the awards.

“As well as giving a presentation, as our previous speakers have, they will also be getting involved with a foraging challenge in the afternoon.

“The awards are a real celebration of sustainability and recognise the hard work that businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly do.

“And it’s great we can have fantastic speakers, like Thom, Tim and Trev, who will help us make this tenth anniversary event a real celebration.”

Judging is due to take place in early November for the seven categories including Best Managed Company, Low Carbon Business, Resource Management, Products and Services, Best Individual, Sustainable Construction and the new Green Shoots New Business category.

Since 2002 the Cornwall Sustainability Awards has given trophies to and acknowledged hundreds of Cornish businesses both large and small and as diverse as breweries, printers, clothing manufacturers, a scrap metal dealer and even an abattoir.

Last year’s Overall winner was Hendra Holiday Park.

Thom Hunt from the Three Hungry Boys said: “It will be great to be back in Cornwall for the awards.

“We had a lot fun here in the last series when we travelled down from Dorset and through Devon in our converted milk float.

“We’ve heard a lot about the previous award winners and the fantastic things they have achieved.

“This is something that is really important to the three of us and outside filming we love to represent all things adventurous and sustainable, including many challenges, trips, charity work, triathlons, sustainable food and sustainable energy movements and schemes.”
