VisitCornwall’s online guide has been named the Best Tourist Board Website in the UK TravelMole Web Awards 2012.
The destination website which was re-launched earlier this year, was applauded for its “innovative features, ease of navigation and fresh design”.
It was also praised for its imaginative communication of Cornwall’s unique visitor appeal by the judging panel, which comprised of marketing and communication specialists from the travel industry.
Lauren Hogan, digital marketing manager at VisitCornwall, said: “To be named best tourist board website is a valuable accomplishment and I am immensely proud that Cornwall has been recognised as leading the way in digital communications in the tourism industry.
“The website was developed with the customer at its heart and this award, along with the increasing user rates which now stand at an annual 1.5 million, show that the strategy of providing customised and relevant information whilst offering inspirational and varied content is a winning combination.”
