The event was held to highlight to would-be applicants the benefits of applying for an award in the event’s tenth anniversary year.

Gitty Ankers MBE of the Environment Agency, who is a co-organiser of the event, said: “It is always a pleasure to launch these prestigious awards which have been running for the past nine years, and have become highly regarded by businesses in Cornwall.

“It was a fantastic evening and it was great to hear from the four businesses about what they had done to become more sustainable and what winning a Cornwall Sustainability Award meant to them.”

Companies will be able to compete in seven categories including Best Managed Company, Low Carbon Business, Resource Management, Products and Services, Best Individual and Sustainable Construction.

This also sees the addition of the new Green Shoots New Business category.

The closing date for entries is Friday, September 30.
