The deadline for entering the Cornwall Business Awards 2012 is fast approaching.

Businesses have until March 16 to enter the awards, which will be presented at St Mellion International during Cornwall Business Week in May.

Suzanne Bond, chief executive of Cornwall Development Company, which organises and presents the event, said: “The Cornwall Business Awards is now in its seventh year and every time we are excited by the quality and diversity of businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We already have some really inspiring entries for this year.”

Around 350 business leaders will attend the awards dinner on May 17, with live video streaming being used to share the results around the world. Former Olympic medallist, Roger Black MBE, will be the celebrity speaker at the event.

Joining the panel of judges for 2012 are Olga Polizzi, director of design at Rocco Forte Hotels and owner of the Tresanton Hotel in St Mawes, and Cornishman Phil Vickery, international rugby player, BBC Celebrity Masterchef 2011 and owner of the Raging Bull sports and leisurewear business.

Any business based in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly can enter one or more of 14 categories, which include Most Dynamic Growth Business, Business Innovation, Best Third Sector Business and Business Leader of the Year.
