The deadline for this year’s Cornwall Sustainability Awards has been extended to Sunday, October 9.
The move comes following a late surge from businesses entering.
Companies entering can compete in seven categories including Best Managed Company, Low Carbon Business, Resource Management, Products and Services, Best Individual, Sustainable Construction, and for the first time this year, the Healthy Workplace award.
Anthony Weight, Cornwall Council’s sustainable development officer and event organiser, said: “As usual we’ve had a lot of applications come in already.
“But as the deadline approaches we find that a number of businesses want to get involved, so we decided to extend the closing date to allow more businesses to shout about their green achievements.”

Winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on Friday, December 9 at the Royal Cornwall Showground Pavilion Centre.
