More than 100 people attended Oxford Innovation’s four Winter Training Camps at Pool Innovation Centre last month, in preparation for the Ignite Business Plan Competition, which is now open for entries.

The four free sessions that formed the Winter Training Camps were designed to give an insight into some of the areas people will need to think about when developing their own business plan.

Workshops were held on: structuring a business plan, how to reach target markets, preparing financial forecasts and risk assessment techniques.

Anyone with a business idea is being encouraged to enter the competition, which boasts truly impressive prize pot, including European grant funding from Oxford Innovation of up to £25k.

Other prizes include a radio marketing campaign on Pirate FM’ a special feature in Business Cornwall; business advice from Winter Rule; legal advice from Foot Anstey; design work from Creative Edge; web development from NetInsight; a year’s free office space at the Pool Innovation Centre; and human resources support from Tamar HR

Closing date for applications is March 31 with judging taking place during April. For more details, click here.
