Cornwall Tourism Awards finalist Roundhouse Barns

The 40 finalists have been revealed in this year’s Cornwall Tourism Awards.

Each establishment is guaranteed a gold, silver or bronze award at next month’s awards ceremony, to be held at St Mellion International, when the winners will be announced.

Taking multiple places on the final board is a trio of sisters who own and manage The Scarlet and Bedruthan Steps Hotel in Mawgan Porth, with the hotels reaching the final in the Small and Large Hotel of the Year categories respectively.

The hotels are also going head to head for the Sustainable Tourism Award alongside three other companies; Global Boarders, Primrose Valley Hotel and Newquay Zoo, as the standard of entries was so high the judges couldn’t whittle the top five down to three.

Also among the double finalists is the luxurious Roundhouse Barn Holidays in St Just-in-Roseland which has reached the final for both Small Self-Catering Establishment of the Year and B&B/Guest Accommodation of the Year.

Announcing the top three lists, Malcolm Bell of VisitCornwall said: “The diversity of finalists underlines the richness of holiday experience available in Cornwall and demonstrates that quality is key. It isn’t just the grandest and most luxurious businesses that are deserving of recognition, small B&B’s and cafes are also significant components in Cornwall’s quality image and these Awards seek to reward excellence across the industry.

“To gain a placing on the finals board is an amazing achievement and all of the businesses should be immensely pleased with themselves. I look forward to celebrating with them at the Awards Ceremony in October.”
