Part of the LexisNexis 2009 Taxation Awards, the award is for high profile figures within the tax profession who write on tax matters for industry journals, reference works and for newspapers and websites.

“This is a prestigious award and I am up against some very strong competition” said John.

“The nominees are usually either professional writers or those heading up national tax technical resource teams for the big accountancy firms.  I am very pleased to have made the shortlist and am looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in May.”

Alan Brownscombe, Managing Partner of Winter Rule, added: “This is a major coup for Winter Rule and builds on our acknowledged tax expertise.  Our Tax Team was twice previously shortlisted in another category of these annual awards and we are hoping for third time lucky.

“This national recognition of excellence is pleasing for both John and the firm. Last year, Peter Penneycard joined us as a Business Tax Partner and with the investment in our new office premises in Truro, continuing recruitment of graduate trainees and the conversion to a modern limited liability partnership, we are continuing to invest for the future in Cornwall.”
