Young entrepreneurs from across Cornwall will be honoured at an awards ceremony in Truro next month.

The Young Enterprise Cornwall Innovation Awards takes place on May 13 at Truro College, and will select a winner to go forward to the south west regional finals in June.

The event is the culmination of the hard work that students have put into running their own trading companies during this academic year through the Young Enterprise Company Programme. With the enthusiastic support of their voluntary link teachers and business advisers, students will make a presentation, set up trade stands and display their products/services together with details of their marketing activity.

Emma Wright, county manager, said: “We are thoroughly looking forward to hearing the presentations from this year’s achievers. Year on year, Cornwall’s students succeed in wowing our judges with their creativity and forward thinking innovative ideas. The Innovation Awards can be the beginning of a very exciting journey for our entrepreneurs of the future. Previous winners have gone on to become the overall UK winners, and have competed in Europe and beyond.”

The event is being supported, for the seventh year running, by Foot Anstey Hancock Caffin solicitors.
