St Austell Brewery’s Victoria Inn and Lodge has received a top environmental award for its work to promote green tourism. The Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) was presented to the Victoria, in Roach, in recognition of the team’s commitment to excellent environmental good practice.

It comes just weeks after St Austell Brewery’s company-wide drive to become more environmentally friendly was rewarded with a shortlisting for Best Managed Large Company in the Cornwall Sustainable Business Awards.

Pam Midgley, Landlady at the Victoria Inn, said: “We are delighted to be recognised for implementing good environmental practice. Maintaining this standard wouldn’t be possible without the support of our team and I’m really grateful to everyone’s commitment to operating the Victoria in a sustainable way.

“St Austell Brewery’s support has been invaluable and it’s wonderful to be part of a company leading the way in the sustainability drive. Although we’ve been awarded Gold we’re still keen to improve our grading and have a few areas that we can develop to become even greener.”
