New face at A&P

A&P Falmouth has appointed a new quality manager.

Tasked with reviewing processes and supporting the growth of A&P Falmouth, Steve Taylor will focus on improving quality processes in the areas of fabrication, machining, hull treatment and pipework.

He joins A&P Falmouth from Canada where he worked at the Victoria Shipyard on the west coast. He has also previously worked for the Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited as a senior welding inspector before being promoted to quality manager, where he put the quality processes in place to achieved ISO 9001 certification.

He said: “Quality workmanship is at the heart of A&P’s offering and it’s my role to build on that further and ensure that we continue to be renowned for our quality driven engineering excellence.”

Gerald Pitts, managing director of A&P Falmouth, added: “Our commitment to quality underpins every part of our operation in Falmouth and it is integral to our continued success and growth.  Steve joins us at a crucial time and we welcome him to the team.”

A&P Group operates seven dry docks across four strategic locations in the UK and has a sister business in Australia that provides ship repair services and support to the Royal Australian Navy.
