Goonhilly Earth Station Limited (GES) has appointed Simon Newman to head up its broadcast services development.
Having previously worked for Discovery Communications, BBC World News and Globecast, Newman will be using his commercial experience and technical knowledge to grow this part of the GES business.
Newman said: “I’m really excited to be working with the team at GES. Goonhilly holds a special place in the history of satellite broadcasting and, with GES’s commitment to the site, we have an outstanding platform on which to grow the business.”
Commercial director, Steve Jones, added: “Having invested heavily in infrastructure to create a significant capability, GES are now in a position to deliver cost effective quality broadcast solutions. Simon is the right person to communicate our story to the sector community.”
