RIO – the Real Ideas Organisation – has appointed Jon Rolls to the newly-created role of commercial director.
With a career spanning 14 years in the social enterprise sector, Rolls brings a wealth of experience from senior roles in the region having previously worked as chief executive of Cornish social enterprise ReZolve and most recently as social enterprise manager at Cornwall College.
As commercial director, Rolls will be responsible for RIO’s profitability, realising the full potential of the business and generating growth.
Initially focusing on RIO’s education, learning and skills offer, his role will span the entire organisation, supporting the team to deliver profitable services and to grow markets, revenue and impact.
He said: “I’m hugely excited to be joining such an innovative organisation that is pushing the boundaries and delivering some amazing work with young people, social enterprises and business alike.
“Having worked with RIO as a partner I know we have a bright future because our economy needs the socially enterprising people and places that RIO have been developing and I’m looking forward to the challenge of helping them in their next phase of growth.”
