Helston-based independent financial advice firm, Atkins Ferrie Wealth Management (AFWM), is extending its services to include mortgage advice for the holiday home market.

The company has recently taken on a new advisor specifically to head up the new arm of the business.

Graham Elliott, a former chartered accountant, has joined the firm following a successful career as a senior financial controller for a large energy company.

Now a fully trained mortgage advisor, he will be offering the service in conjunction with a number of estate agents throughout Devon and Cornwall.

AFWM managing director, John Waldie, said: “We discovered there was a gap in the market for this particular type of mortgage advice. One of our company ethics is to develop our services based entirely on the customer’s needs so it made sense to try and fulfil that need.

“What’s interesting about this market is there is often more than one way to fund a holiday home. Often it is through a mortgage but there are other solutions. With our combined expertise we can work to find the best solution for each individual client.”
