Cornwall Marine Network has taken on five new members of staff to further enhance its business support services for the marine sector.

New senior project executive, Alex Lake, is supporting the strategic development department in securing new project funding that directly benefits Cornwall’s marine industry; Tutor Cherry Wyndham Smith is using her teaching expertise to deliver training to member businesses and bookkeeper and administrator, Kathy Tisdale, is now providing full-time cover for the accounts department.

Contracts and information administration assistant, Laura Powell, is supporting the Network’s ESF Convergence and mainstream government-funded programmes and project officer, Melanie Cock, is helping deliver schemes that engage young people into the sector.

The latest recruits to Cornwall Marine Network’s offices in Falmouth are part of its three-year strategy for growth. The network has recently been awarded a £100k Business Catalyst Fund, which is part of the Regional Growth Fund and managed by Cornwall Development Company.

It is anticipated that this grant will result in a further ten staff being recruited over the next 12 months, to support the delivery of additional new projects.
