The Newham BID is now the sixth successful BID operating in Cornwall and is the first BID located within a mixed industrial area rather than a town centre.

The budget of £420k, which will be raised over the next five years, will directly fund the main projects outlined in the Newham BID business plan. These include installing signage across Newham, road improvements, maintenance and cleanliness, car parking and public transport, CCTV Technology and to address some of the issues of homeless sleepers in the area.

Elvey joins the Newham BID bringing with her extensive experience in project delivery and managing grant funded projects. Much of her experience has been working with private sector businesses in the fishing sector.

She explained: “The BID consultation process has already developed a clear strategy and strong mandate so I’ll be focusing on delivering the projects identified by businesses across Newham. It’s a five-year programme and with my mix of project delivery and grant funding experience I’m confident Newham will look very different in five years.

“I hope to meet most businesses across Newham as soon as I can, but any businesses wishing to meet me as soon as possible please get in touch.”
