Cornwall Food & Drink has appointed Heather Mewton to the newly-created position of membership and office manager.
The new position will help cater for an “unprecedented” rise in new membership enquiries since the beginning of the year.
Managing director, Ruth Huxley, said: “After having a good think about what we should be focussing on in order to ensure our members get good value for money, we extended our range of services and activities and the impact has been truly impressive.
“Our membership numbers have risen by more than 20% in the past three months.”
Originally from Cornwall, Mewton left the Duchy to go to university in Nottingham, before working with the British Ecological Society in London, where she dealt with a membership scheme, databases and internal systems and processes.
