A recruitment company renowned for specialising in the administrative and skilled sectors has taken on a new consultant at its Truro branch.

Such is the demand for Hospitality and Catering staff throughout the area that company directors have diversified their business to create an entirely new sector for providing temporary and permanent staff.

Smith and Reed Recruitment have been providing staff throughout the county since 1980 and now employ a total of 10 staff. Having taken on new consultant Rachel Hicks, formally from the Scarlet Hotel in Mawgan Porth, growth is high on the agenda.

Company Director Jacquie Bamber-Jones commented;

“We recruit throughout the county and are currently seeing a huge surge in vacancies within this area of specialism. We have tackled this head on by recruiting Rachel who has outstanding experience in the Hospitality and Catering sector and has a drive and enthusiasm for great service. It’s a positive time for us and we all welcome Rachel to the team.”

Expansion plans have also seen consultants Rebecca Thomas and David McEwen promoted to business manager and division manager and the addition of a marketing executive, Zoe McEwen, to head the new company website.

Hicks added “I’m really excited to have joined Smith and Reed and look forward to growing this new sector into a thriving integral part of the business”.
