Chartered accountant Francis Clark has taken eight new trainees onto its books.

Partners of the future? Francis Clark's latest student intake

The firm, which recently merged with Truro-based Winter Rule, says spotting the best student talent forms a vital part of its growth strategy.

HR manager Duncan Endacott explained: “A successful and ambitious practice must continually attract the best talent available. Merging with an outstanding business is one way, and lateral hires are another.

“However, it is important that you also ‘grow your own’. We have a long-term recruitment plan which identifies and recruits the best student talent, incentivise them with the quality of work they will enjoy and with the prospect of first class training and provide them with a clear career development path which can lead to the very top, even partner status.”

The firm is also expecting a crop of newly qualified ACAs (Associates of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) to be announced later this month.
