A leading Cornish lawyer has become the first-ever legal executive to be promoted to associate level in the history of regional legal firm Stephens Scown.

Jason Harris, a personal injury legal executive in the company’s Truro office, has worked for Stephens Scown since 1999.

Commenting on his promotion, Harris said: “It’s a great honour to be made an associate and I’m personally delighted. I hope that this sets a precedent for other legal executives to follow. I’ve been working towards this for many years and I’m really pleased to have got there now. It’s an endorsement of the work that I’ve put in representing my clients and the firm and rewarding to know Stephens Scown values that in such a way.”

Andy Steele, chief executive of Stephens Scown, offered his congratulations to Harris: “Jason is thoroughly deserving of his promotion within the firm to Associate level. He is a good litigator and always goes the extra mile and this has allowed him to negotiate generous awards for his clients. It clearly demonstrates that we have a wealth of expertise within Stephens Scown that our clients can rely on – they need not look outside the region for top legal talent.”

A member of the Law Society Personal Injury Accreditation Scheme and Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, Harris has more than ten years’ experience of uninsured loss and personal injury litigation. He specialises in personal injury claims acting solely on behalf of claimants and works within a small, dedicated team in Truro.
