A firm of solicitors is celebrating its expansion this week despite continuing gloom in the world economic situation.

Truro and Parranporth-based Nigel Pullen has strengthened its team with the added services of Chris James who brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the already highly-qualified team of partners Nigel Pullen and Mykal O’Toole.

James, who has been practising law in Cornwall for 24 years, moved from Hancock Caffin, a firm with a long Cornish heritage, after it was acquired by legal giants Foot Anstey which has more than 400 staff and an annual turnover of nearly £20 million.

He commented: “I have always believed in the value of keeping in tune with your core market and consequently I am extremely excited to be moving to a small and focused practice that has its finger on the pulse of legal work in Cornwall. I am looking forward to looking after the needs of the many clients I have acted for during 24 years of practice in Truro.

“I’m really pleased that, at a time when many people are focusing on the difficulties brought about by global downturn, I am joining a company that is raising its sights and building now for a brighter future.”

“We are proud to welcome Chris James to the team,” added Pullen. “His arrival shows we are more committed than ever to our model of providing the best quality legal service to our clients – no matter what their legal requirements are.”
