Heating and electrical company Blue Flame (Cornwall) Ltd has electrified more than a third of its vehicle fleet.

The company has replaced 20 of its 55 diesel vans with 100% electric vehicles. The transition is expected to result in annual carbon savings of approximately 60 tonnes of CO₂, depending on fuel and grid conditions.

Company director, Grant Doe, explained: “Making this commitment is something we feel passionately about. As a proud Cornish business, we were determined to reduce our impact where we could. It didn’t feel right to continue using diesel vans when the technology and performance of electric vehicles are now readily available.

“Cornwall’s geography can make operations challenging, so installing EV chargers at our employees’ homes was crucial to making this transition work and most importantly maintaining the same level of service, day or night, for our customers.”
