A Cornish brewery is taking a novel approach to finding new tenants for one of its pubs by offering them free beer.

Keltek Brewery is actively seeking tenants of one of its pubs and is doing all it can to support a reopening.

The Mount Ambrose Inn is a community pub on the outskirts of Redruth which closed last year despite strong support from the local community which is keen to see it reopen.

Keltek Brewery decided that when times get tough, even the nest of pubs needs a more adventurous bit of help. For the right applicant, the brewery will look to assist in stocking the shelves with their products free of charge.

Acting on behalf of the brewery, Mike Easton at commercial agent, Vickery Holman, said: “The Mount Ambrose is a great community local and we are keen to speak to experienced publicans to get the venue reopened. The bar is in great condition and there is a kitchen which could be refitted to provide a simple food offer, which has gone down very well in the past.

“Our clients want to support the right operators and are mindful that times are tight, so want to do what they can to see this pub and up and running as soon as possible. In addition to a traditional bar, the added benefit is an enclosed patio garden to the rear, which has previously hosted beer festivals and music events. Tenants will benefit from sizeable private accommodation.”
