A Cornish boutique bed and breakfast was named among the winners at this year’s Taste of the West Product, Hospitality and Retail Awards.
Cusgarne Manor, near Truro, was crowned Best South West Bed and Breakfast. It was the only finalist from Cornwall in the category.
The manor is a Grade II listed farmhouse six miles outside Truro, which has been lovingly restored by owner Fiona Sherriff.
She said: “We never expected to win; we just thought we’d go along to the awards ceremony for the lovely Taste of the West lunch! I’m blown away really, as we’ve only been open for a year and were up against some really amazing established businesses.”
In total, 12 hospitality and retail classes were announced, with Cornish Fishmonger named Best South West Online Retailer. This was followed by the champion products from each of the 26 product categories, with Crackington Cider Company and Baytree Candies among the Cornish winners.
