Commercial waste management firm DCW has invested £600k in four new state-of-the-art vehicles for its Cornwall fleet.

DCW says two 26 tonne dustcarts and two 7.5 tonne dustcarts will allow it to expand its eco-friendly Zero to Landfill recycling service in Cornwall.

Despite the challenges that the coronavirus pandemic has presented, DCW grew by 27% in 2021 as businesses sought sustainable waste management solutions after returning to the workplace.

MD Simon Almond said: “Our strong performance over the last 12 months has enabled us to kick-start 2022 by investing in new state-of-the-art vehicles for our Cornwall fleet.

“They are all diesel vehicles which means they emit less CO2 and greenhouse gases than petrol engines, and will allow us to continue delivering a reliable, top-quality service to our valued customers in Cornwall.”

DCW empties in excess of 10,000 containers across the south west every week, diverting more than 40,000 tonnes away from landfill each year.
