Rodda’s has become the latest Cornish company to secure B Corp status.

The Scorrier-based clotted cream producer joins the likes of Leap, Finisterre and Origin Coffee to be certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement. The rigorous year-long certification process covers the entirety of a business’ operations, ensuring the highest social and environmental standards are met.

Rodda’s says it is passionate about supporting local farming families and carefully selects farms within a 30-mile radius of the creamery to supply the finest milk. Each is required to pass their bespoke farm assurance, covering animal welfare to the highest level. In return they are offered support and advice, and a fair price for their milk.

This sustained investment in the local farming community over the past five years has contributed over £100 million to Cornwall’s economy. Rodda’s continues to work with over 40 Cornish farming families.

MD Nicholas Rodda said: “We are always challenging ourselves to do better, and this accreditation, which rubberstamps the work we’ve always done, marks a defining moment in the company’s development.

“The journey to becoming B Corp accredited has been a fun, yet challenging process, covering all areas of our business from our farmers, suppliers, community, environment and our people. Certification reflects our exceptional team, and we are immensely proud to now be part of the B Corp community.”
