A new website has launched today showcasing Cornwall’s unique sense of place, culture and commercial achievements, presenting them to a worldwide audience in advance of the G7 Summit.

Conceived and delivered by the Cornwall Place Board with the support of Cornwall Council, the site’s purpose is to promote Cornish businesses, attract inward investment and create well-paid jobs, while also revealing interesting facts that uphold the distinctive heritage and special character of Cornwall.

Working alongside the Council, the Local Enterprise Partnership and Cornwall Development Company, The Place Board is an independent organisation which “acts as guardians of the Cornwall brand and place story”. The board aims to provide a strategic, place led view and leadership for the promotion and development of the Duchy as an unbeatable place to live and work.

James Staughton OBE, chair of the Cornwall Place Board, said: “The G7 Summit presents Cornwall with a significant opportunity to shine a light on what makes our county such a special place. With a global audience, and businesses starting to build back even better, the Board are delighted to play a part in championing Cornwall for one and all. I would encourage everyone to visit our newly launched website www.cornwall.uk, enjoy the impressive content and enrol as a Cornish Ambassador. Cornwall needs you!”

The website has been designed and developed by Cornish agency Vitamin Cornwall as a directory site with content categorised and provided by voluntary contributors. The site will ultimately signpost users to more in-depth information found elsewhere and hopes to attract features and content from contributors which will be relevant to anyone interested in Cornwall.
