This week global fashion retailer H&M debuts its first surf, swimwear collection with Cornish business, Women + Waves.

Women + Waves is a team of passionate surfers who created a unique surf group in 2017, to share their love of surfing and support other female surfers. The Newquay-based business offers UK surf coaching weekends, women’s surf lessons and international surf trips including destinations such as California, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Morocco.

Women + Waves founder Rachel Murphy said: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and have been working closely with the H&M design team in Stockholm since last year to create the new collection, which will be available in stores and online from June 4.

“We flew to Stockholm to work on the final designs in December and have been working together with the creative team on all the visuals. We have been delivering unique surf coaching experiences for women since 2017 and have built a really strong and inspiring Women’s surf community. To now have a fashion collection that represents the Women + Waves surf vibe and style really is a dream come true.”

Women and Waves was advised on the collaboration by Cornish law firm Murrell Associates.

Rebecca Anforth, head of Intellectual Property, said: “I am delighted to have assisted Women + Waves with its recent collaboration with H&M. Rachel and the team at Women + Waves have worked hard to develop a valuable brand and its collaboration with H&M will now help to promote this brand to an extended audience.”
