A new study has been launched into trialing a new way of buying and selling local renewable energy, in the Wadebridge area.

The Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network (WREN) is assessing the feasibility of a new scheme where local homes and businesses in the PL27, PL28 and PL29 postcodes can sell their surplus solar energy to a trading platform and make an income.

Others who might not have their own solar can then purchase this electricity through the platform at a lower rate than from commercial suppliers.
