A Cornish company’s crowdfunding campaign has raised more than £250k within just a couple of days of going live on Crowdcube.
Porthleven-based eco packaging firm Flexi-Hex is seeking to raise £300k, but is set to smash that target.
Director, Will Boex, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our friends and supporters to join us and buy equity in our company.
“We have already achieved a lead investment from Sky Ocean Ventures and the aim of the raise is to further expand our team and research and develop new products for other sectors.”
Flexi-Hex is a plastic free, paper-based alternative to inflatable single use plastic systems and the potential for its application for many products across many industries is said to be far reaching.
The global protective packaging market is estimated to be worth $756 billion annually.
Flexi-Hex is already available in 19 countries with over 154,000 sleeves sold, removing the equivalent of 389Km of bubble wrap, enough to extend from London to Paris.
Flexi-Hex is backed by Sky Ocean Ventures and Innovate UK.
