The Driftwood Spars in St Agnes will celebrate the life and work of Pete Martin, AKA ‘Pete The Brewer’, with a special beer festival taking place at the pub over the weekend March 13-15.

The Dark, The Light & The Saison is an annual event, but this year has been scheduled to coincide with what would have been Pete’s 57th birthday on March 15; it will be dedicated to his memory and many achievements in the world of craft brewing.

Head brewer at The Driftwood Spars Brewery, Pete Martin passed away suddenly earlier this year; his death came as a great shock to his friends and colleagues at the independent pub and microbrewery in Trevaunance Cove.

Louise Treseder, landlady of The Driftwood Spars and a close friend of Pete’s, said: “Although we are still struggling to come to terms with his loss, the best tribute we can imagine is to get together and celebrate his amazing achievements, whilst enjoying his favourite brews; it’s what Pete would’ve wanted.”
