The first Cornwall New Energy (CNE) event held at the Bedruthan Hotel recently has been proclaimed a great success.

More than 70 local businesses came to find out about the support the Cornwall New Energy can offer them. They were also given the chance to meet and talk to some of the local renewable energy providers in Cornwall.

The presentations from the day showcased some of the work that CNE has already completed for local businesses in Cornwall, and the keynote speech given by Mark Holmes of Cornwall Council was about Cornwall’s Energy Future.

Alex Nicholas, CNE marketing and delivery manager, said: “We were delighted with the response from local companies who are keen to address their energy use and to engage with us to find ways to lower their energy bills in the future.”

The event was well received by those attended. One of the delegates, Chris Marshall of Porthilly Farm Cottages and Rock Shellfish said: “It was a really packed day with lots of information and ideas circulating, but it was also really useful to speak to the list of hand-selected suppliers present that clearly had a lot of expertise in their respective fields.”

The Cornwall New Energy project is receiving £2,657,433 of funding from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
