A new partnership between The Golf College in Sussex and The Cornwall College Group is set to create a raft of new opportunities for sporting stars of the future.

The move represents an opportunity for talented young golfers to develop their abilities, while studying for a BTEC Extended Diploma in sport performance and excellence at sites in Cornwall and Sussex.

Director of health and well being across The Cornwall College Group, Lisa Clark, said: “Both organisations are passionate about developing the next generation of sports stars and this was an organic partnership for both of us.”

The course enables students to develop theoretical sporting principles whilst having immediate access to the best golfing facilities and coaching.  All learners also get an opportunity to play on a course on the Algarve in Portugal during the winter months.

Clark continued: “We are excited to be working with the University of St Mark and St John to enable learners to progress into higher education and we are currently developing an FdSc in Golf Operations.

“This is an exciting time as all our students will be supported by talented staff who are all experts in their field.”

Head of Tournament Golf at Duchy College, Alex Lindsay, added: “Both organisations have a proud history of producing talented young players and this partnership will enable us to work closer together, developing best practice and opening new opportunities.”
